About Ilene Carol

ART 4 ALS was created in honor of a father who passed from ALS in 2006. His initials were A.R.T. — and long before this event existed, he lived those letters through the way he showed up for his children. He supported creativity in all forms, encouraged curiosity, and took his daughter to her first art museum in Philadelphia — the Philadelphia Museum of Art — a moment that stayed imprinted as proof that art can expand the way we see the world.

Years later, ART 4 ALS became a way to transform that legacy into action. It’s built on a simple belief: creativity can be more than expression — it can be support. Through art, music, spoken word, and community experiences, ART 4 ALS raises visibility and resources for families navigating ALS today, while honoring the spirit of a man who always made room for imagination.
